David & Diana's Spring Fling in Charleston, SC

Thursday afternoon, April 27, 2000

After a long morning touring Patriots Point, we were ready to sit down and eat. We drove down to Shem Creek and dined outdoors at the Trawler. They have a floating dock for patrons that arrive by boat. We enjoyed watching the boats maneuver in the narrow channel. The she-crab soup is the best in Charleston.

We went to the City Marina to check out the ships.

Here's the Pride, an 84-foot, true three-masted topsail schooner which holds 49 people. We went for a sunset cruise down the Ashley River, past Fort Sumter, out to the Atlantic Ocean.

We enjoyed a late supper at the Southend Brewery a three-story atrium-style brewhouse situated in a historic building.
